The date of October 21, 2025 is significant for the artists of the Moscow State Ensemble Russian Song and for all fans of its work. Exactly 50 years ago, in 1975, a unique folk song ensemble was created by a student of the Gnessin Institute, Nadezhda Babkina.

Over half a century of its existence, the Ensemble, which initially consisted of six female soloists, has gone through a great creative way. By the 10th anniversary of the Ensemble, male voices were added to the female sextet, which allowed to significantly expand the repertoire of the collectiveIn 1989, a multifunctional folklore center was created on the basis of the Russian Song, and in 1994, the Ensemble became an independent organization under the Moscow Committee of Culture. In 2000, it was reorganized into the Moscow Musical Folklore Theatre "Russian Song".

All 50 years, the permanent head of the Ensemble is People's Artist of the RSFSR Nadezhda Georgievna Babkina. Bright, talented, charismatic, she has devoted her entire life to preserving the traditions of Russian song art. Thanks to her virtuoso mastery of various vocal techniques, styles, and genres, the Russian Song Ensemble has managed to reverse the stereotypical perception of folklore and folk songs in the minds of modern society.

The "Country of Talents" concert, held on the main stage of the theater on the anniversary day, became a kind of creative milestone for the Ensemble.

A long-standing creative friendship connects the Russian Song collective with the Academic Order of Merit in Culture and Arts Ensemble of Songs and Dances of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation and its artistic director and chief conductor – People's Artist of Russia, Major General, Hero of Labor of Russia Viktor Eliseev.

The audience's thunderous applause was a reward for the Ensemble's ballet group, who performed the soldiers' dance "Home with Victory."

The concert was attended by popular performers: Oleg Gazmanov, Pelageya, Alexey Vorobyov, Tatyana Kurtukova, Evgeny Gor, and creative groups: Igor Moiseev State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble, Syabry Ensemble, Alla Dukhova TODES Ballet, M. E. Pyatnitsky State Academic Russian Folk Choir, State Chamber Choir of the Republic of Tatarstan, Moscow Cossack Choir, MEREMA Ethnographic Folklore Group, Mari El State Dance Ensemble, Gzhel Moscow State Academic Dance Theater The Russian Souvenir Folk Instrument Ensemble, the Alania Moscow Dance Ensemble, as well as the Russian Song Theater groups: the Slavs Folk Ensemble, the Russians Ensemble, the After 11 Group, and the Zhivaya Planeta Ballet.

The anniversary concert ended with the song "Victory Day" by David Tukhmanov to the words of Vladimir Kharitonov, performed by Nadezhda Babkina, accompanied by the choir of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Rosgvardiya and the Ensemble "Russian Song". This song, which has long become one of the most recognizable and heartfelt musical symbols of the memory of the Great Patriotic War, was sung by the entire audience together with the artists.

The anniversary concert of the Russian Song Ensemble was a significant event not only in the history of the renowned folk group, but also in the cultural life of the capital.
