The healing power of art, and especially music, has been known since ancient times. During times of hardship, a song always stood alongside soldiers on the battlefield and workers in the rear. The song boosted the morale of soldiers and helped the wounded recover more quickly.
The Academic Order of Merit in Culture and Arts Ensemble of Songs and Dances of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, under the direction of the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev, often performs concerts in hospitals, including the Main Military Clinical Hospital of the National Guard in Balashikha. On one of the pre-New Year's days, December 28, 2023, the artists of this renowned military ensemble performed at the Main Military Clinical Hospital of the National Guard in Balashikha for military personnel undergoing rehabilitation treatment and for the hospital staff.
The concert featured both war-time songs beloved by several generations of Russians and works by contemporary authors.
Honored Artist of Russia Alexey Dmitriev performed the songs: "Valor and Honor" (music and lyrics by A. Zaitsev) and "Forward, Russia!" (music and lyrics by O. Gazmanov).
Performed by the Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Alexey Kholyavko songs: "I love you, life" (E. Kolmanovsky – K. Vanshenkin), "Eagle" (music and lyrics by A. Marshal), "Where does the Motherland begin?" (V. Basner – M.Matusovsky).
The soloist of the Ensemble Evgeny Nasonov performed the patriotic composition "Let's Stand Up" by Y. Dronov.
The concert was hosted by Igor Shustikov, an Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, an Honored Artist of Russia, and Roman Khudyakov.
The audience applauded for a long time.
