One of the most significant events in the country's cultural life in July 2023 was the anniversary of one of Russia's largest military musical and choreographic ensembles, the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation.

The Song and Dance Ensemble of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, established by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR on July 3, 1973, and since 2016 known as the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, has been diligently carrying on the glorious tradition of Russian military musicians for over 50 years. The ensemble regularly performs in units of the National Guard Troops, organizes charity concerts for war veterans, and participates in all significant public events held in the country.

By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, for outstanding achievements in the field of musical and choreographic art, the National Guard Ensemble was awarded the Order of Merit in Culture and the Arts. This was the first time in the history of modern Russia that a creative team was awarded a high state award.

The collective's creativity is greatly appreciated by the audience in our country and abroad. During the anniversary year, the Ensemble performed concerts in large and small cities across Russia.

"50 Years in the Service of Music" was the name of a large festive concert dedicated to the anniversary of the Academic Order of Merit in Culture and the Arts of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, which took place on September 29, 2023, at the State Kremlin Palace.

At the beginning of the concert, the song "Valor and Honor" (by A.V. Zaitsev) was performed by Alexey Dmitriev, an Honored Artist of Russia, and the ensemble's choir and orchestra.

The Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi noted the Ensemble's achievements in promoting Russian musical and choreographic art abroad and wished the team and its leader further creative success.

The children's ensemble of the Rosgvardia Ensemble performed the fiery dance "To the Parade, Attention!" based on well-known works: the Russian folk marching song "Soldatushki," the song "Tachanka" (music by K. Listov), the song "Katyusha" (music by M. Blanter), and the march "Farewell to the Slavs" (music by V. Agapkin).

Alexey Kholyavko, an Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan, performed the heroic song "For Donbass" (by Sergey Voytenko and Alexander Ganichev).

The patriotic song "I am Russian" (music and lyrics by Y. Dronov) was performed by the author and performer (SHAMAN) accompanied by the Ensemble's choir.

The audience is always delighted by the performances of the Ensemble's soloist, People's Artist of Russia Natalia Eliseeva. In the festive concert, the singer performed "The Song of the Earth" (music and lyrics by Vladimir Vysotsky) with great emotion.

Foggelson) were performed by the Honored Artist of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic Alexander Kochov, Honored Artist of the Republic of Ingushetia Igor Safonov, Mikhail Zaraev, Konstantin Kuzmin, Evgeny Yakhin, Viktor Lezhnin, Denis Khludnev.

The Ensemble's dance group presented the premiere of the choreographic composition "Dance with Swords" from the ballet "Gayane" by composer Aram Khachaturian, choreographed by Honored Artist of Russia Pyotr Kovalev.

"Memory" - this song by the composer G. Movsesyan on the verses of R. Rozhdestvensky was performed with a deep sense of artistic director and chief conductor of the Rosgvardia Ensemble, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev.

On this festive evening, the famous band was visited by Russian national artists: Larisa Dolina, Nikolai Baskov, Oleg Gazmanov, Alexander Buinov, Honored Artists of Russia: Askar Abdrazakov, Varvara, Ekaterina Guseva, Zara, Denis Maidanov, Alexander Marshal, Maria Voronova, Natasha Koroleva, popular artists: Soso Pavliashvili, Arsen Shakhunts, Levan Pavliashvili, Sergey Volchkov, Evgeny Kungurov, Alexandra Vorobyova, Yuri Kononov, Elizaveta Dolzhenkova, Anastasia Makeeva, Gleb Matveychuk, Artem Minkov, as well as groups: children's musical theater "Domisolka", Moscow Dance and Song Theater" Kalina Krasnaya", the group" Nashi", the musical duo"Galibri and Mavik".

The anniversary concert ended with the song "Forward, Russia!" performed by the author, People's Artist of Russia Oleg Gazmanov, and the choir and orchestra of the Academic Order of Merit in Culture and Arts of the National Guard of the Russian Federation.

The event was attended by military personnel and employees of the National Guard, family members of military personnel, representatives of state authorities, and public organizations in the capital.

The hosts of the gala concert were Svetlana Zeynalova and People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev.

The ensemble performed in the capital of Chuvashia

After a triumphant performance in Nizhny Novgorod, the Academic Order of Merit for Culture and Art of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Guard of the Russian Federation arrived in Cheboksary, the capital of the Republic of Chuvashia. Cheboksary is an ancient Volga city that celebrated its 550th birthday in 2025. From 1708 to 1920 Cheboksary was a county town of Kazan province, and in 1925 acquired the status of the capital of the Republic of Chuvashia. The city has been repeatedly recognized as one of the most well‑developed in Russia. Today it is the administrative, industrial, scientific, and cultural center of Chuvashia. The work of the Academic Order “For Merit in Culture and Art” Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, under the direction of the artistic director and chief conductor, People’s Artist of Russia, Hero of Labour of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev, is well known to the residents of Cheboksary. The renowned military ensemble has performed many times in the capital of Chuvashia. On the stage of the Republican Center for Folk Art “DK Traktorostroiteley” on September 3, 2026, the Ensemble’s collective presented a new concert program, prepared for the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation and the 210th anniversary of the law enforcement troops. The packed hall was filled with city residents, labor veterans, participants in the special military operation, Rosgvardia employees, and members of their families. Among the honoured guests of the event were the Head of the Chuvash Republic, Oleg Nikolaev, members of the Government of the Chuvash Republic, and representatives of public organizations.

The ensemble gave a concert in Nizhny Novgorod

As part of the tour by the Academic Order “For Merit in Culture and Art” Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, under the direction of the artistic director and chief conductor, People’s Artist of Russia, Hero of Labour of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev, concerts were successfully held in Uglich and Kostroma in late August 2026. On the first day of September, the ensemble performed for the residents and guests of Nizhny Novgorod. The residents of Nizhny Novgorod carefully preserve the historical memory of the city’s heroic past — the people’s militia led by Minin and Pozharsky in 1612, the militia of 1812, and the heroic labour efforts of the townspeople during the Great Patriotic War. Thanks to its favourable geographical location — at the confluence of the Volga and Oka rivers — Nizhny Novgorod became the country’s main trading hub as early as the 19th century, a “bridge” between Europe and Asia. The city’s residents are proud of the names of their great compatriots – the inventor Ivan Kulibin, the writer Maxim Gorky, the mathematician Nikolai Lobachevsky, the pilots Valery Chkalov and Pyotr Nesterov, the actor Evgeny Evstigneev, and many others. And Nizhny Novgorod is also called the capital of sunsets (this brand was officially registered by Rospatent in 2026).
