capital of Tatarstan on Republic Day and Kazan City Day

Located in the center of Russia, where the two great Russian rivers, the Volga and the Kama, meet, Tatarstan has always served as a bridge between the European and Asian parts of our country. It is difficult to overestimate the role of the Republic of Tatarstan in strengthening Russia's economic and defense capabilities, as well as in promoting interethnic and interfaith harmony.

The penultimate day of August is a special day for all Tatarstan residents – on this day the Day of the Republic is celebrated. The birthday of Tatarstan statehood is considered to be August 30, 1990, when the Supreme Soviet of the TASSR adopted the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Tatarstan.

It is noteworthy that the celebration of the birthday of the capital of Tatarstan, the ancient and eternally young city of Kazan, is also timed to coincide with this significant date.

At the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center on August 29, 2023, the performance of the Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation was held under the direction of the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev. The concert featured popular songs: "The Great Distance" (E. Ptichkin, R. Rozhdestvensky) from the film "Love of the Earth" (soloist - People's Artist of Russia Natalia Eliseeva), folk song "Kalinka" (Honored Artist of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria Alexander Kokhov), "Amur Waves" (performed by the choir), "Valor and Honor" (author: A. Zaitsev, soloist: Honored Artist of Russia Alexey Dmitriev ).

One of the "centers of attraction" of the city's cultural life on August 30, 2023, was the square on the bank of the Kazanka River in front of the Kazan Family Center. The artists of the Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, led by the artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev, performed for the residents and guests of the capital.

Residents of Tatarstan are well acquainted with and fond of the famous band's work. The Eliseevs have performed numerous concerts in the cities of the Republic.

Just recently, in June of this year, as part of the anniversary tour, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the collective, the concerts of the Ensemble in Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Yelabuga and Kazan took place.

The themes of patriotism, love for the Motherland, and responsibility for the fate of Russia, as well as the themes of labor heroism and labor feats, are close and understandable to all Russians, regardless of age or nationality. For the residents of the city of Kazan, these concepts are not just words. During the Great Patriotic War, Kazan became one of the most important rear centers of the country.

The song "You, My Russia" by composer Serafim Tulikov and poet Sergei Ostrovoy, performed with great emotion by the Ensemble's soloist, People's Artist of Russia Natalia Eliseeva, set the solemn tone for the entire concert.

The audience listened with special feeling to the performance of patriotic works: "March of the Gunners" (T. Khrennikov, V. Gusev), "Song of War Correspondents" (M. Blanter, K. Simonov; soloist – Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Alexey Kholyavko), "Soldier's Suite" arranged by A. Kukharenko (soloists: Honored Artist of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria Alexander Kochov, Honored Artist of the Republic of Ingushetia Igor Safonov, Honored Artists of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Mikhail Zaraev and Evgeny YakhinKonstantin KuzminAlexey BosykhViktor Lezhnin), "Smuglyanka" (A. Ganichev; soloist – Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Alexey Kholyavko).

The repertoire of the Rosgvardia Song and Dance Ensemble is very diverse. Along with war-time songs and songs by Soviet composers, each concert program also includes folk songs, old romances, and modern vocal and choreographic compositions. Today's performance was no exception-the audience warmly received the lyrical song "Give me a handkerchief" (G. Ponomarenko, M. Agashina; soloist-People's Artist of Russia Natalia Eliseeva), the song " I'll go out in the field with a horse at night "(I. Matvienko, A. Shaganov), performed by the vocal octet of the Ensemble (head – Honored Artist of the Republic Ingushetia Sergey Bazylko), as well as choreographic compositions: "Home with Victory" (staged by the Honored Artist of Russia A. Safronov, musical arrangement by A. Zarkov), " Golden Khokhloma "(staged by the Honored Artist of Russia Peter Kovalev), vocal and dance composition " Gypsy Fantasy "(arranged by I. Golubev and I. Kadomtsev, soloists: People's Artist of Russia Natalia Eliseeva, Honored Artist of Russia Alexey DmitrievEvgeny Nasonov), comic song " I'll take you to the tundra "(M. Fradkin, M.Plyatskovsky, soloists: Honored Workers of Culture of the Republic of Buryatia Ruslan Samozhapov and Norpol Tsidenov), variations on Russian-Tatar themes (quartet of balalaika players; conductor – Ivan Stepanov).

The Ensemble's soloist, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Ruslan Abdrafikov, gave the audience a lot of positive emotions by performing the unofficial anthem of the Tatar people, "Min Yaratam Sine, Tatarstan!" ("I Love You, Tatarstan") (A. Andreev, R. Rekypov), in the Tatar language. Honored Artist of Russia Alexey Dmitriev performed the Tatar folk song "Idel".

The concert traditionally ended with the "Farewell to the Slavonic" march (V. Agapkin, V. Lazarev) performed by the Ensemble's choir and orchestra.

The concert was hosted by Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, Honored Artist of Russia, Colonel Igor Shustikov.

At the end of the event, the artistic director and chief conductor of the Academic Ensemble of Songs and Dances of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev, addressed the audience and congratulated everyone on the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Day of the City of Kazan. Viktor Eliseev expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the Kazan Administration and the Republic of Tatarstan for their excellent organization of the concert and warm welcome.

"This is not the first time we have performed in Tatarstan," said Viktor Petrovich, "and each performance is a celebration for us. The people of Tatarstan are a wonderful audience, deeply sensitive and understanding of art. The people of Tatarstan are hardworking people who love their homeland and do everything they can to make it prosper. We look forward to seeing you again!"
