On September 3, 2020, the International Educational and Patriotic Event "Victory Dictation" was held for the second time in all regions of the Russian Federation and many foreign countries, with the support of the permanent Organizational Committee of the All-Russian Political Party United Russia "Our Victory".

The event was held simultaneously at 7,500 venues in 85 regions of the Russian Federation. This year, 75 foreign countries joined the event.

The dictation tasks were devoted to significant dates, events, military geography, historical figures, fiction, and works of fine and monumental art.

The dictation was held in order to involve the general public in studying the history of the Great Patriotic War, to increase historical literacy, and to promote patriotic education among young people.

The event was organized by the United Russia Party, the Russian Historical Society, the Russian Military History Society, the All-Russian Public Movement Victory Volunteers, the Russian Union of Veterans, with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and Rosobrnadzor.

According to tradition, the Victory Museum in the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Hill became the central starting point for the International Educational and Patriotic Campaign "Victory Dictation".

Before the start of the Victory Dictation, the song "History Lessons" (music by Vladimir Shainsky, lyrics by Mikhail Ryabinin) was performed by the popular singer Alexander Kogan and the choir of the Academic Ensemble of Songs and Dances of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, led by the artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev.

The song "History Lessons" was chosen as a greeting for the participants of the Victory Dictation for a reason. It perfectly matches the mood of the event. The audience warmly welcomed the artists of the renowned ensemble.

The event was attended by participants in the defense of Moscow, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, and representatives of public organizations in the capital.
