A lawyer is one of the most respected professions in Russia. Every year on December 3, Russian lawyers celebrate their professional holiday. On this day, lawyers who have made significant contributions to the formation of a legal state, the strengthening of the rule of law and order in society, and the development of Russian legal science are awarded. The most outstanding representatives of the profession are recognized with the Lawyer of the Year Award, the highest legal award in the Russian Federation, established by Presidential Decree No. 1129 dated October 8, 2009.

The annual Lawyer of the Year award ceremony was held on December 3, 2021, at the Moscow Golf Club.

Pavel Krasheninnikov, Chairman of the Association of Lawyers of Russia, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation, Sergey Stepashin, Viktor Blazheev, Vladimir Pligin, and Vladimir Gruzdev, Chairman of the Association's Board, addressed the audience with welcoming words.

The Executive Director of the Russian Lawyers Association, Elena Spiridonova, presented the main results of the Association's work in 2021 in her report.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought its own unique challenges to all aspects of society. The legal profession has also faced numerous new issues. Anastasia Malyugina, Deputy Executive Director and Head of the Association's Office, presented a report on the Association of Lawyers of Russia's activities during the pandemic.

The participants listened to all the presentations with great interest.

The gala event culminated in an awards ceremony hosted by Vladimir Gruzdev, Chairman of the Association's Board of Directors.

According to the established tradition, the professional holiday "Lawyer's Day" was not without the participation of the renowned Russian military musical group - the Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, led by the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev.

The Ensemble's artists welcomed the winners of the Lawyer of the Year Higher Legal Award by performing popular musical pieces.

Accompanied by the choir and the ensemble's soloist, Honored Artist of Russia Alexey Dmitriev, the popular song "Last Christmas" by American singer and composer George Michael was performed.

NPeople's Artist of Russia Grigory Pinyasov presented to the audience a modern performance of the world hit “16 tons” by American country guitarist and singer Merle Travis.

The audience especially liked the medley of songs from the repertoire of Leonid Utyosov, arranged by the Honored Artist of Russia A. Mazanov. It was performed by the ensemble's soloists: the Honored Artist of Russia Natalia Eliseeva, the Honored Artist of Russia Alexey Dmitriev, the Honored Artist of the Republic of Ingushetia Alexander Vdovenko, Pavel Pushkin, and Mikhail Zaraev

The concert ended with a choral performance of the patriotic song "Glory!" from the opera "A Life for the Tsar" by Mikhail Glinka.

The audience highly appreciated the performance of the Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, led by the artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev, and gave them a standing ovation.

The ensemble took part in the “Main Children’s Songs” project

To educate through music, to foster a sense of patriotism in today’s children, to instill in them respect for the history of their country, to instill in them an understanding of the enduring moral significance of such concepts as the Motherland, honour, friendship, and family, to open the way for young talents, and to help build a “bridge” between different generations of Russians — all these goals are pursued by the all‑Russian creative project “Main Children’s Songs”. The project is implemented by the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The “Main Children’s Songs” project brings together talented children, contemporary authors, musicians, vocalists, and representatives of the creative industries to create new domestic musical content that combines traditional Russian values with modern trends in musical art.

“For the Glory of Russia!” – The ensemble performed at the State Concert Hall

In 2026, which was declared the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the entire life of the country is permeated by the idea of diversity and the dialogue of cultures of the different peoples inhabiting our vast homeland. A notable event in the cultural life of the capital was the concert “For the Glory of Russia,” which took place on October 4, 2026, at the State Kremlin Palace. Among those gathered in the hall were heroes of the Fatherland, outstanding public figures, military personnel of the National Guard, veterans of combat operations, participants in the special military operation and members of their families, as well as scientists, athletes, doctors, teachers, students, and young professionals – in other words, all those whose professional achievements are directly linked to their contribution to the development and security of the country – and this lent a solemn tone to the entire event. On the main stage of the country today, stars of the domestic pop scene, renowned musical groups, choreographic ensembles, young singers, and popular performers took the stage.
