A concert by the Ensemble was held in the Hero City of Novorossiysk

The tour of the Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation in the cities of Crimea and the North Caucasus is a significant event in the cultural life of these regions of Russia. In early June 2021, the ensemble's artists were warmly welcomed by the residents of Goryachy Klyuch, Anapa, and Krasnodar, and on June 8, the renowned military band performed in the Hero City of Novorossiysk.

Novorossiysk holds a special place among the Hero Cities. The defense of Malaya Zemlya is one of the heroic pages of the Great Patriotic War. The liberation of this small (about 30 sq. km) piece of land located south of Novorossiysk was of great strategic importance. The heroic defense of Malaya Zemlya lasted for 225 long days – this is how long the landing of Soviet sailors, who recaptured Malaya Zemlya from the Nazi invaders, held this territory until the complete liberation of Novorossiysk. The great feat of the defenders of Novorossiysk will live on in the memory of many generations.

Paying tribute to the soldiers who died for the freedom and independence of our Motherland, the artists of the Academic Ensemble of Songs and Dances of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation visited the Heroes Square Memorial Complex in the center of Novorossiysk and laid flowers at the Eternal Glory Flame.

On the evening of June 8, 2021, a concert of the Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation was held at the Novorossiysk Maritime Cultural Center, led by the artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev. Among those present in the concert hall were veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, labor veterans, and representatives of public organizations.

People of different generations, different nationalities, and different cultural traditions-all of them with a deep sense of love for the Motherland and pride in its heroic past, listened with bated breath to the song "Holy War" that appeared at the beginning of the concert (music by A. Alexandrov, lyrics by V. Lebedev-Kumach) performed by the Ensemble's choir.

The audience received very warmly the songs of the Great Patriotic War, songs of Soviet composers that were performed in the concert. Performed by the choir and soloists of the ensemble, the audience heard a suite on the theme of soldiers ' songs: "Song about a Russian soldier" (K. Akimov, K. Filippova)," Vasya Kryuchkin "(V. Solovyov-Sedoy, V. Gusev)," Vasya-Cornflower "(A. Novikov, S. Alymov)," Song about the Soviet Army " (A. Alexandrov, O. Kolychev) and others.

The popularity of the ensemble is largely due to its wide repertoire, which includes not only classical works, but also folk songs and world pop hits. The concert in Novorossiysk pleasantly surprised the audience with the variety of the program. The song "Get Lucky" by the popular band "Duft Punk" was especially well received, as it was performed by the ensemble's choir and soloists: the Honored Artist of Russia Alexey Dmitriev and the Honored Artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Artem Melnikov.

A pleasant gift for the audience was the performance of the ensemble's dance group, which presented the choreographic composition "Home with Victory" by the artist of the Republic of Ingushetia Alexey Rayushkin.

The concert ended with the song "Farewell, Slavonic" (by V. Agapkin and A. Fedotov), performed by the choir and orchestra to prolonged applause from the audience.

Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory Sergey Altukhov and Head of the Department for Cooperation with Law Enforcement Agencies of the Novorossiysk Municipal Formation Sergey Baran expressed their gratitude to the Ensemble.

The Grand Tour of the Academic Ensemble of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, led by the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev, continues.
