During these spring days, numerous events dedicated to Victory Day were held in Samara, a glorious city of labor and military glory.

Participants of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, representatives of public organizations, thousands of Samara residents gathered in the center of the regional capital, on Kuibyshev Square on May 9, 2022. A large festive concert dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held here. For several hours, the best groups of the Samara region took the stage: artists of the sextet of soloists of the opera house, the show ballet "New Face", the State Volga Russian folk choir named after P. M. Miloslavov, the SamArt theater for young spectators, and other groups and performers.

The Honored Artist of Russia Denis Maydanov expressed his gratitude to the veterans, war participants, and home front workers. The popular author and performer delighted the audience with the most famous works from his own repertoire and performed patriotic songs about his homeland.

A real gift for the residents of Samara was the musical composition "Immortal Songs of the Great Country" with the participation of the Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation under the direction of the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Victor Eliseev and popular performer, Honored Artist of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria and the Republic of Dagestan Alexander Kogan.

At the beginning of the concert performed by the choir of the Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation and Alexander Kogan, the song "Echo of a Long-Ago Parade" (music by Alexandra Pakhmutova, lyrics by Nikolai Dobronravov) from the film "Battle for Moscow" was performed. The song was accompanied by a display of historical footage from the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

The concert featured the following songs: "The Fourth Day of the War" (music and lyrics by Viktor Tretyakov), "Hot Snow", "Let's Bow to the Great Years" (music by Alexandra Pakhmutova, lyrics by Mikhail Lvov)," Dark Night "(music by Nikita Bogoslovsky, lyrics by Vladimir Agatov)," Song of Frontline Correspondents" (music by Matvey Blanter, poems by Konstantin Simonov), "Random Waltz" (music by Mark Fradkin, poems by Evgeny Dolmatovsky), "Our Medical battalion" (music by Igor Luchenko, poems by Mikhail Yasen), "Cranes" (music by Jan Frenkel, poems by Rasul Gamzatov), and others. The performances were accompanied by prolonged applause. The huge screen displayed wartime photographs and newsreel footage.

The ballet group of the Rosgvardia Ensemble performed the dance composition "Victory Dance".

"It's an amazing feeling to perform on such a holiday that Russians are looking forward to. And we are happy to perform at such a venue in Samara, where many citizens have come. There is a sense of unity among the people, and the audience is united in a single impulse on Victory Day," said Viktor Yeliseyev, the head of the band and a People's Artist of Russia, as he addressed the audience.

The Governor of the Samara Region, Dmitry Azarov, congratulated his fellow countrymen on the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. "Our land has made a huge contribution to achieving this victory, bringing it closer every day. More than half a million of our fellow countrymen went to the front to fight, and half of them did not return home. Here, in the rear, without sparing their lives or strength, giving their last, the weapons of victory were created. We remember, honor, and will always be faithful to the memory of the great generation of victors," said the Governor of the Samara Region, Dmitry Azarov.

The festive concert traditionally ended with the song "Victory Day" by composer David Tukhmanov and poet Vladimir Kharitonov. This legendary song was performed by Alexander Kogan, Denis Maydanov, Governor of the Samara Region Dmitry Azarov, Major General Viktor Yeliseyev, and the choir of the Academic Ensemble of Songs and Dances of the National Guard of the Russian Federation. The audience in the square also sang along with the performers.

The last chords of the song coincided with the first salvos of the Victory Day fireworks.
