On Victory Day, he performed concerts in Cherepovets and Vologda.

Victory Day ― the main holiday for our country. On this day, we say words of gratitude to the veterans, on this day we pay tribute to those who paid with their lives for our freedom and independence.

On these festive days, the country is hosting solemn events and concerts by artists dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the Soviet people's victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The Academic Order of Merit in Culture and the Arts Ensemble of Songs and Dances of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, led by its artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev, performed concerts in two Russian cities on May 9, 2024.Cherepovets and Vologda.

The first concert took place in Cherepovets. In the years of the Great Patriotic War, it was a hospital city, a city of warriors, a city of workers, a city of evacuation points. In Cherepovets, the inseparable connection between the rear and the front was especially strong – it was from here that food was delivered to the heroic besieged Leningrad. It was through Cherepovets that the road to the “safe” East to the rear, passed thousands of wagons with wounded soldiers.

From the very first days of the war, Cherepovets enterprises switched to a new rhythm of work. The Krasnaya Zvezda plant mastered the production of mortars and anti-tank grenade casings. The vodka factory produced incendiary mixtures. Tens of thousands of Cherepovets residents fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War; 18 people were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and six were awarded the Order of Lenin.

A huge labor contribution to the Victory was made by Vologda and the Vologda region. Located close to the front line, Vologda became one of the largest transport hubs, ensuring uninterrupted communication between the rear and the active army. The Vologda region supplied the front with food and uniforms. The Northern Kommunar factory was established to produce mortars. During the war years, about a million wounded soldiers passed through Vologda, and 370,000 Vologodans went to war, 18 of them became Heroes of the Soviet Union.

Today, the Palace of Culture of Metallurgists in Cherepovets was filled with festive energy. The concert by the Rosgvardia Song and Dance Ensemble was attended by war and labor veterans, as well as young residents of the city. Among the honored guests of the event was the Head of Cherepovets, Margarita Pavlovna Guseva.
