Concert-examination of students of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory

"An exam is always a holiday for me, professor!" - this phrase familiar to everyone from the immortal short story "Obsession" of Gaidai's comedy "Operation "Y" ...", probably best suited the mood of the students of the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, who took the exam on practical work with a professional group today - April 10, 2025.

The concert-exam took place not within the walls of the conservatory, but in the building of the Academic Order "For Merit in Culture and Art" Song and Dance Ensemble of the Troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation on Bolshaya Lubyanka - the artistic director and chief conductor of the Ensemble, People's Artist of Russia, Major General, Hero of Labor of Russia Viktor Eliseev is a professor of the choral conducting department of the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, the head of the practice of third-year students.

In addition to Viktor Petrovich, the commission that took the exam included the teachers of the department: Acting Head of the Department, People's Artist of Russia, Professor Lev Zinovievich Kontorovich, People's Artist of Russia, Professor Gennady Alexandrovich Dmitryak, Professor Nadezhda Vladimirovna Averina, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Professor Stanislav Semenovich Kalinin, Professor Vladimir Viktorovich Kontarev and others.

The opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in choral conducting, acquired during their years of study at the conservatory, was given to the children by the artists of the Ensemble, performing 13 works by Soviet composers and modern authors - Viktor Eliseev gave up his place at the conductor's stand to future conductors, who replaced each other in turn.

The strict commission was satisfied with the results of the exam. As Lev Kontorovich emphasized in his speech, the music that sounded today in the Ensemble’s concert hall, which had temporarily been transformed into an examination room, created an atmosphere of solemnity, an atmosphere of celebration, uniting all those who dedicated their lives to serving art – the Ensemble’s artists, the conservatory’s teachers and their young students.

Participation in a festival dedicated to the composer A. P. Averkin

One of the glorious traditions of Russian musical culture is the annual (since 1997) All-Russian Festival of Folk Art in memory of Alexander Averkin, an Honored Artist of Russia and a composer, held in the Sasovo Municipal District of the Ryazan Region. In 2026, the XXIX All-Russian Festival of Folk Art, dedicated to the composer A.P. Averkin, combines two themes. The main theme of the event is the memory and creative legacy of Alexander Petrovich Averkin, the author of over 800 works that remain popular today. But the fact that this year's festival is being held in the composer's homeland gives it a special significance. Exactly 100 years ago, in the summer of 1926, the village of Sasovo was officially declared a city by the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee.
