The artists of the Ensemble congratulated the staff of Polyclinic No. 2 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on the Day of the Medical Worker

Every third Sunday in June, Russia traditionally celebrates Medical Worker's Day. The professional holiday for medical workers was introduced in the USSR only in 1980. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the tradition of celebrating medical workers in late June remained. Hundreds of thousands of Russians work in the medical field, including not only doctors but also paramedics, nurses, and nurses' assistants. The role of medical workers has significantly increased during the coronavirus pandemic, with over 600,000 Russian medical professionals heroically combating the disease.

In his address to medical professionals, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin called the holiday a good opportunity to express gratitude to doctors, paramedics, and nurses for their dedication, competence, talent, and compassion. He emphasized that all medical professionals carry out their duties responsibly, regardless of their location. "The importance of medical professionals cannot be overstated, as they prevent diseases, preserve the health and lives of Russian citizens, and provide hope," Vladimir Putin stressed. "In our society, your selfless work is highly respected and appreciated," he assured.

On Medical Worker's Day, awards, diplomas, and state decorations are presented in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other Russian cities, and concerts are held for doctors and medical professionals.

On the eve of the Medical Worker's Day, the choir soloists and ballet artists of the Academic Order of Merit in Culture and Arts Ensemble of Songs and Dances of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, led by the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General, Hero of Labor of Russia Viktor Eliseev, congratulated the doctors and medical staff of Polyclinic No. 2 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The concert opened with the patriotic song "I Love You, Russia!" by composer David Tukhmanov to poems by Mikhail Nozhkin and performed by People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Romanov. He also performed the following songs: "People in White Coats" (E. Kolmonovsky – L. Oshanin), "Dear Long" (B. Fomin-K.Podrevsky), "Coachman, don't drive the horses" (J. Feldman-N. von Ritter).

The Ensemble's ballet group performed the choreographic compositions "Open to the World" (directed by Viktor Kopylov and arranged by Ogurtsov) and "On the Bridge" (directed by People's Artist of the USSR M. Godenko and arranged by M. Press).

Popular songs "These Eyes Opposite" (D.Tukhmanov – T.Sashko), "How Delightful Are the Evenings in Russia" (V.Pelenyagre – A. Dobronravov) were performed by Honored Artist of Russia Andrey Novozhilov.

The concert was also attended by the choir's soloists Roman Khudyakov and Konstantin Kuzmin.

Participation in a festival dedicated to the composer A. P. Averkin

One of the glorious traditions of Russian musical culture is the annual (since 1997) All-Russian Festival of Folk Art in memory of Alexander Averkin, an Honored Artist of Russia and a composer, held in the Sasovo Municipal District of the Ryazan Region. In 2026, the XXIX All-Russian Festival of Folk Art, dedicated to the composer A.P. Averkin, combines two themes. The main theme of the event is the memory and creative legacy of Alexander Petrovich Averkin, the author of over 800 works that remain popular today. But the fact that this year's festival is being held in the composer's homeland gives it a special significance. Exactly 100 years ago, in the summer of 1926, the village of Sasovo was officially declared a city by the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee.
