On Russia Day, a concert called "We Are Together!" was held on Red Square with the participation of Russian pop stars. Due to the ban on mass events imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the traditional concert by artists did not allow 30,000 people to gather on the country's main square on June 12, as was the case in previous years.
Two hundred seats, arranged with social distancing in mind, were provided to volunteers who had previously been tested for coronavirus infection.
Maria Sittel and Dmitry Guberniev, the hosts of the evening, addressed the audience on Red Square and in front of the TV screens with words of gratitude: "The volunteer movement, which emerged just a few years ago, has brought together the best representatives of our civil society. This spring has become a shining moment for the volunteer movement in Russia."
The concert opened with a performance by People's Artist of Russia Oleg Gazmanov, who sang his song "Forward, Russia!" accompanied by the choir of the Academic Ensemble of Songs and Dances of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation. This patriotic song, performed by the author and the renowned military ensemble, is traditionally performed at solemn events dedicated to Russia Day and has long gained popularity among the audience.
In the festive show "We are together!" performed Lev Leshchenko, Igor Krutoi, Larisa Dolina, Nikolai Baskov, Ildar Abdrazakov, Alexander Rosenbaum, Grigory Leps, Tamara Gverdtsiteli Valeria, Sergey Lazarev, Polina Gagarina, Leonid Agutin, Diana Arbenina and other popular performers. The audience warmly welcomed the performance of the artists.
According to tradition, the Russian national anthem was played at the end of the concert. The event was broadcast on the Russia-1 channel.
