Postage stamps are not only state signs of payment for postal items. Being real works of art, postage stamps reflect the history of the country, its natural resources, national cultural traditions. Stamps play a major role in the patriotic education of the younger generation.
The ceremony of commemorative cancellation of a postage stamp dedicated to a particular event in the life of the country helps to attract public attention to this event, preserving historical memory.
A bright event in the cultural life of Russia in 2023 was the celebration of the 50th anniversary of one of the largest army musical and choreographic art groups in the country - The Song and Dance Ensemble of the Troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation under the direction of the artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev.
The Ensemble's work is greatly loved by audiences not only in our country, but also abroad. The Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Guard is the first and (at the moment) the only creative group in Russia to be awarded the Order "For Merits in Culture and Art". In honor of the anniversary of the famous group, a postage stamp "50 years of the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation" was issued (artist and designer Alexander Povarikhin).
