Patriotic education of the younger generation is one of the pressing tasks of our time. The Interregional Children and Youth Military-Patriotic Public Movement “Gvardeyskaya Smena” makes a worthy contribution to solving this task.

One of the movement's large-scale projects is the organization of the All-Russian Military-Patriotic Camp “Soldiers of the Fatherland. Borodino”. The project aims to promote civic and patriotic education among young people, preserve historical memory, and foster respect for service in the National Guard of the Russian Federation.

As part of the project, in the summer of 2021, military-patriotic training camps “Borodino-2021” were held with the participation of children and teenagers from 50 regions of Russia. The location of the training camps was chosen for a reason. The Battle of Borodino holds a special place in the history of the Russian state. The victory of the Russian army at the Battle of Borodino destroyed Napoleon's plans for world domination and predetermined the liberation of the peoples of Europe.

The concert of the Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation (artistic director and chief conductor — People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev), held on the territory of the museum-reserve “Borodino Field” on June 15, 2021, was dedicated to the memory of the feat of the Russian people in the two Patriotic Wars.

The concert opened with the song "You Call Me, Russia" (V. Levashov, V. Kharitonov) performed by the ensemble's lead soloist, People's Artist of Russia Grigory Pinyasov.

The concert featured works by Soviet composers that are beloved by listeners of all generations: "You are my melody" (A. Pakhmutova, N. Dobronravov, soloist Nikita Ivanov), "Black-Eyed Cossack Girl" (M. Blanter, I. Selvinsky, soloist Roman Nepomnyashchykh), "I See a Wonderful Open Space" (A. Polyachek, F. Savinov, soloist Mikhail Menshikov), "I Love You, Life" (E. Kolmanovsky, K. Vanshenkin, soloist People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Romanov).

The audience also applauded the performers of Russian folk songs: "Ah, you, my dear" (soloist Mikhail Menshikov), "Along the Peter's" (soloist Grigory Tkachenko-Shulgin), "Korobeyniki" (soloist Honored Artist of Russia Alexey Volzhanin). The virtuoso playing of Russian folk instruments was demonstrated by the quartet of balalaika players (leader Ivan Stepanov).

The brilliant performance by the dance group of the sailor dance ensemble "Yablochko" (directed by Honored Artist of Russia Yu. Gerasimov, musical arrangement by M. Press) and the vocal and choreographic composition "Kalinka" (directed by People's Artist of Russia A. Radyuk, musical arrangement by Honored Artist of Russia A. Mazanov) left no one indifferent.

The concert of the Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation at the Borodino Field ended with the performance of the song "Brave Guards" (A. Irkutsk, G. Kuchinskaya) by the ensemble's lead soloist, People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Romanov.

The military-patriotic training camp “Borodino-2021” on the territory of the Museum-Reserve “Borodino Field” will continue until July 4, 2021.
