The Academic Ensemble of Songs and Dances of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, under the direction of its artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev, continues its anniversary tour of the cities of Tatarstan. Today, on June 17, 2023, the Ensemble performed a concert in Yelabuga.
Yelabuga is a beautiful ancient town on the right bank of the Kama River (it celebrated its millennium in 2007). It is known far beyond the borders of Tatarstan for its developed industry, unique architectural appearance, and rich historical and cultural traditions. Yelabugans are rightfully proud of the well-deserved UNESCO Medal for the Preservation of Historical Heritage (2000). The population of Yelabuga is multi-ethnic, and Russian and Tatar cultures coexist harmoniously.
Today, the City Palace of Culture of the Yelabuga Municipal District on Neftyanikov Avenue was filled with a festive atmosphere. It seemed as if the entire city had come to experience the art of the renowned Ensemble, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
The concert opened with the patriotic song "You, My Russia" (music by S. Tulikov, lyrics by S. Ostrovoy), performed by the Ensemble's soloist and People's Artist of Russia Natalia Eliseeva, which set the solemn tone for the entire event.
The theme of love for the Motherland, patriotism, and responsibility for Russia's fate is close and understandable to all Russians, regardless of their nationality or age.
