Happy holidays, cadets! The ensemble performed a concert at the Moscow Presidential Cadet School named after M. A. Sholokhov
The date - February 17 - is special for all students of cadet schools - on this day, since 2022, Cadet Day has been celebrated in Russia.
The tradition of celebrating Cadet Day originated in the distant past, when on February 17, 1732, Empress Anna Ioannovna issued a decree on the creation of the first cadet corps. Cadet corps provided their students not only with specialized military, but also with a broad civil education.
On this significant day - February 17, 2025 - artists of the Academic Order "For Merit in Culture and Art" Song and Dance Ensemble of the Troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation under the direction of the artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev congratulated the students and teaching staff of the Moscow Presidential Cadet School named after M.A. Sholokhov of the Troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation.
Founded in 2002, the Cadet School of the Russian Guard has become a second home for 370 students. In addition to the regular school curriculum (5 - 11 grades), cadets learn the basics of drill training, horseback riding and shooting, acquire hand-to-hand combat skills, and learn songs and dances.
The concert program, which the "Eliseevites" prepared for the "heroes of the occasion", was dedicated to the theme of love for the Motherland, loyalty to one's civic duty, responsibility for the fate of one's country.
Despite their young age, the cadets listened with deep feeling to the performance of songs from the times of the Great Patriotic War, songs of Soviet composers and works of modern authors, combining heartfelt lyricism with sincere love of life and faith in the victory of good over evil. The concert was opened by the "Ballad of a Soldier" (V. Solovyov-Sedoy, M. Matusovsky, soloist - People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Romanov), "Song of War Correspondents" (M. Blanter, K. Simonov, soloist - Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Alexey Kholyavko), "Song of Artillerymen" (T. Khrennikov, V. Gusev, performed by the choir and orchestra), "Lizaveta" (N. Bogoslovsky, E. Dolmatovsky, soloist - People's Artist of Russia Grigory Pinyasov), "Smuglyanka" (A. Novikov, Ya. Shvedov, soloist - Honored Artist of the Republic of Ingushetia Grigory Yakovlev), “For Donbass” (S. Voitenko, A. Ganichev, soloist - Alexey Kholyavko), “Let's Get Up” (music and lyrics by Ya. Dronov, soloist - Evgeny Nasonov) - these patriotic works found a deep response in the hearts of young spectators.
A touch of good humor was added to the concert program by comic numbers - the Bashkir dance “Black Chicken” (production by Honored Artist of Bashkortostan Khalil Ishberdin, soloist – Ural Kulmukhametov), choreographic composition “On the bridge” (directed by People's Artist of the USSR M. Godenko, arranged by M. Press), medley on themes of Soviet film comedies (a quartet of balalaika players led by Ivan Stepanov), a cheerful song “I’ll take you to the tundra” (M. Fradkin, M. Plyatskovsky, soloists – Honored Artists of the Republic of Buryatia Ruslan Samozhapov and Norpol Tsydenov), modern composition “The boys went on a spree” (S. Pavliashvili, A. Shakhunts, soloists - Honored Artist of Russia Alexey Dmitriev and Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Alexey Kholyavko).
The concert traditionally ended with the performance of the vocal and choreographic composition “Valor and Honor” (music and lyrics by A. Zaitsev, production by Honored Artist of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania Ivan Zhelnov, soloist - Alexey Dmitriev).
The festive concert became a wonderful gift to future defenders of the Motherland on Cadet Day.
