The Ensemble held a large concert in the Hero City of Sevastopol
Continuing its tour of Crimean cities, the Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation arrived in the Hero City of Sevastopol on June 18, 2021.
Sevastopol occupies a special place among the hero cities. Its name means "majestic" or "heroic"in Greek. The whole history of Sevastopol is a series of heroic battles and immortal feats. Sevastopol played a key role in the Crimean War (1853-1856), courageously withstood an extremely important defense for the Soviet state during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).
It is noteworthy that Sevastopol was part of Russia twice: the first time was in 1783, according to the manifesto of Empress Catherine II; in the middle of the last century, Sevastopol lost its territorial status for several decades, and only in 2014 did historical justice prevail when Sevastopol returned to Russia following a referendum.
Today, Sevastopol is a city of federal significance (along with Moscow and St. Petersburg). Sevastopol is home to the main naval base of the Russian Federation's Black Sea Fleet.
The residents of Sevastopol are very sensitive to the history of the legendary city, and they sacredly honor the memory of its defenders. The performance of the Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, led by the artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev, which took place on June 18, 2021 at the House of Naval Officers, was a bright and unforgettable event in the cultural life of Sevastopol.
Among those present in the concert hall of the Naval Officers' House were veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, and labor veterans.
The song "You Are My Russia" by the composer Serafim Tulikov to the words of Sergey Ostrovoy in the excellent performance of the leading soloist of the Ensemble, Honored Artist of Russia Natalia Eliseeva from the first notes captured the attention of the audience and created a festive atmosphere of the musical evening.
The concert featured songs from the Great Patriotic War and songs by Soviet composers. The audience heard a suite of soldiers' songs performed by the choir and soloists of the ensemble: "Song about the Russian Soldier" (K. Akimov, K. Filippova), "Vasya Kryuchkin" (V. Solovyov-Sedoy, V. Gusev), "Vasya-Vasilyok" (A. Novikov, S. Alymov),

The ensemble's dance group presented the choreographic composition "Home with Victory" (directed by Honored Artist of Russia A. Safronov, musical arrangement by A. Zarkov), with the soloist being Honored Artist of the Republic of Ingushetia Alexey Rayushkin.
A sea of positive emotions was caused by the fiery performance of the ballet group of the ensemble of the sailor dance "Yablochko" (directed by the Honored Artist of Russia Yu. Gerasimov, musical arrangement by M. Press). Sevastopol residents were especially emotional about the performance of the unofficial anthem of Crimea "Sevastopol Waltz" (K. Listov, G. Rublev, soloist Dmitry Dolgiy).
The concert ended with the song "We Serve Our Motherland" (N. Smirnov, S. Kardaev), performed by the choir and orchestra (soloists: Evgeny Yakhin and Alexey Kholyavko), which received a standing ovation from the audience.
