The ensemble took part in anniversary celebrations dedicated to the 270th anniversary of the foundation of Moscow State University
Russian Students' Day - January 25 - is a favorite holiday for both those who are currently studying at the university and for those who graduated from the "alma mater" long ago. On this day, January 25, 1755, by decree of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna, on the initiative of philanthropist Ivan Shuvalov, with the participation of the outstanding Russian scientist Mikhail Lomonosov, the project for the creation of Moscow University was approved. This year, Lomonosov Moscow State University celebrates a significant date - 270 years since its foundation.
The festive concert "Planet MSU: through centuries and spaces", dedicated to the anniversary of one of the oldest and largest classical universities in Russia, took place on January 25, 2025 in the State Kremlin Palace. The ceremony was attended by over 5,000 students, postgraduates, research fellows and teachers of the university, and about 300 rectors from 45 foreign countries were its guests.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko, who opened the ceremony, read out a congratulatory message from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the MSU staff and presented a welcoming address to the Rector of the University, Academician Viktor Sadovnichy.
«MSU was, is and will remain the flagship of Russian higher education, embodying its best traditions, constantly improving and reaching new heights. It has become one of the symbols of Russia, has earned well-deserved authority and recognition in the world,», the head of state noted in his greeting. The President also emphasized that among the graduates of MSU — a whole galaxy of outstanding cultural figures, scientists, politicians and workers who have made an invaluable contribution to the strengthening and development of Russia, and wished the teachers and students of Moscow State University to continue to move forward and achieve success, bringing benefit to the people and the Fatherland.
In response, Viktor Sadovnichy warmly congratulated everyone “who considers themselves part of the university corporation” and the honored guests of the event on the wonderful anniversary. The academician thanked the President of Russia Vladimir Putin for his continued support of the university and assured him of his readiness to continue to serve the Fatherland with faith and truth.
Many popular artists and creative groups came today to congratulate the MSU staff on the wonderful anniversary.
Artists of the Academic Order “For Merit in Culture and Art” Song and Dance Ensemble of the Troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation under the direction of the artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Eliseev took to the country's main stage three times today.
The optimistic “March of Enthusiasts” (I. Dunaevsky, A. D’Aktil”) “Eliseevtsy” performed together with soloist Elena Maksimova, vocalists of the Academic Choir of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, dancers — Alla Dukhova's ballet dancers "Todes", the dance group under the direction of Lyudmila Baykova, Angelina Shkarupina's Creative Center "Brosko", as well as athletes from the Central Section of Rhythmic Gymnastics of Moscow State University, the Moscow State Academy of Physical Education and the sports school of the Pushkinsky urban district of the Moscow region.
The song by A. Petrov and G. Shpalikov "I Walk Through Moscow", known as the anthem of the 1960s, was performed by the artists of the "Eliseevsky" Ensemble choir and soloist Gleb Matveychuk (dance accompaniment - Alla Dukhova's ballet "Todes").
"You, my Russia!" (S. Tulikov, S. Ostrovoy) - this song, which has become a kind of "calling card" of the leading soloist of the Ensemble, People's Artist of Russia Natalia Eliseeva, was performed by the singer accompanied by the choir of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Guard and the Creative Center of Angelina Shkarupina "Brosko". The performers were rewarded with long, unceasing applause from the audience.
The concert program also featured artists from the Kremlin Ballet Theater, the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A.V. Alexandrov, the State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble named after Igor Moiseyev, the Academic Northern Russian Folk Choir, the Children's Musical Theater Domisolka, the art group Soprano Turetsky, the vocal group VIVA, the State Academic Choir of Russia named after A.A. Yurlov, People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Mashkov, Honored Artists of Russia Ekaterina Guseva, Maria Voronova, Agunda Kulaeva, Maxim Maklakov, Albina Shagimuratova and other performers.
The event was hosted by Yana Churikova and Valdis Pelsh (by the way, he is also a graduate of Moscow State University).
