On January 28, 2020, the Chamber Hall of the Moscow International House of Music hosted a memorial evening dedicated to the 145th anniversary of the composer Reinhold Moritsevich Glière.

In 1993, one of the oldest children's music schools in the Central Administrative District of Moscow, the R.M. Glière Children's Music School, was named after the outstanding composer, conductor, teacher, People's Artist of the USSR, and musical and public figure R.M. Glière.

The solemn evening in memory of the composer opened with a performance by the Academic Ensemble of Songs and Dances of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation, led by the artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Major General Viktor Yeliseyev. The ensemble's choir and orchestra performed works by R.M. Glière, popular compositions, and songs by Soviet composers. The audience warmly welcomed the performances by the ensemble's artists.

People's Artist of Russia, Professor, Major General Viktor Yeliseyev, who was one of the most talented graduates of the music school in the past, addressed the teachers and students of the R.M. Glière Children's Music School with a welcoming speech.
The head of the renowned Academic Ensemble shared his memories of his early years at the music school, his first successes, and his beloved teachers who helped him find his path as a musician and conductor.

The concert was continued by performances by students and teachers of the R.M. Glière Children's Music School, who performed works by Glière, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and Taneyev.

The concert at the Moscow International House of Music was attended by distinguished guests, representatives of music educational institutions in Russia (Kaliningrad), Ukraine (Kyiv), Kazakhstan (Almaty), and Uzbekistan (Tashkent), which bear the name of the outstanding composer, as well as members of the R.M. Glière family.

The evening in memory of the composer ended with the anthem of the R.M. Glier Children's Music School, based on the music "Hymn to the Great City" from the ballet "The Bronze Horseman," performed by the Glier Ensemble.
