the staff of the FSSP on the anniversary

Every year on November 1, the Federal Service for Judicial Bodies (FSB) celebrates its professional holiday. This year, it coincides with the 160th anniversary of the institution of judicial bailiffs. Established as part of Alexander II's judicial reform as a system for ensuring judicial authority in the Russian Empire, the institution of judicial bailiffs remained unchanged for over half a century until it was abolished by Decree No. 1 of the Council of People's Commissars on November 24, 1917, along with the dismantling of the previous judicial system.

During the Soviet period, the functions of enforcing court decisions were assigned to bailiffs working at district (city) people's courts. Some of the functions of the abolished structure were transferred to the Soviet police.

The Federal Bailiff Service was re-established in our country only 80 years later, based on Federal Law No. 118-FZ of July 21, 1997, "On Bailiffs."

On the eve of the anniversary celebrations, in his address to the agency's employees, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin noted that the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia today faces significant tasks that require each employee to have deep and thorough knowledge, to strictly adhere to their professional duties, and to possess impeccable personal qualities. The Head of State expressed confidence that the employees of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia will continue to work honestly and conscientiously, preserving and developing the best traditions of the service's veterans.

On these days, employees of the Federal Bailiff Service are awarded state and departmental awards, certificates of honor, letters of gratitude, and state insignia.
